The weather there is frightful--ours is just delightful! When you're ready for a second home--let us know-let us know-let us know! (that should be sung to "Let it Snow") All kidding aside--Hello and welcome to our area of Florida where NOW is the time to buy! There has been a 13% increase each month for the last three--but, the Prices are down, inventory is high--there are bargains in Punta Gorda real estate! If you ever thought of investing in Punta Gorda real estate--this is the time! If you don't know about Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte and North Port, now is the time! These areas are priced for the savvy buyer. The revitalization of Charlotte County and the building of condos, homes and commercial buildings is changing the face of the area, but our small town charm remains. In Punta Gorda, the new building at Laishley Park is complete and the ship's store and marina are open! Additional plans are for a waterfront "Crab Shack" type of restaurant, boutique shopping and possibly an interactive fountain. There are other great plans for Punta Gorda's future. One of the most informative sources of information regarding the master plan is the website at www.teampuntagorda.com. Check it out! Ground breaking has happened for the new waterfront Sheraton Hotel. The hotel is on the old Holiday Inn site.We are excited to see more building going on--looks like we'll have aother hotel we can recommend! Port Charlotte has new motels (much needed), a great new open air shopping center, and plans for the new baseball spring training facility. We are adding "brand name" stores and restauarants to the area. Charlotte County continues to grow--who can not be attracted to year around outdoor ativities, sunshine, warm winter days and no snow shovels! One thing has not changed, though. Charlotte and Sarasota Counties still offer a Florida lifestyle for everyone! We have great fishing, golf, tennis, boating, and "sunning". In 2007 we became home to the Charlotte County Redfish, a professional baseball team in the South Coast League. What a great time we had attending the games--they were never #1, but they had the home town support! Cecil Fielder is now the coach and we're looking forward cheering for them again! Guess that will be in 2009--the field and stadium is undergoing renovation for the spring training team that will arrive in 2009! There are lots of activities for everyone--hard to be a couch potato when you move here--If you would like to know more about the "fun" things you can do--just email me! I'll send you a list!
