Punta Gorda Isles
Punta Gorda Isles is a deed restricted community offering over 100 miles of saltwater canals with easy Harbor access for your boating or fishing enjoyment. PGI (Punta Gorda Isles) is an upscale community with city water/sewer and concrete seawalls. The affordability of Punta Gorda Isles has brought us many new residents, both year around and snowbirds! There are still vacant waterfront lots available for building your dream home!
| Burnt Store IslesBurnt Stores Isles, a deed restricted, direct Gulf access, saltwater boating and golfing community, is located off U.S. 41 about 5 miles south of downtown Punta Gorda. Most homes in BSI are canal front or on the golf course. This is a growing area of custom built houses as well as pre-owned homes and condos. Birds such as Ospreys, Wood Storks, Egrets, Grounding Owls, and Ibis also call Burnt Store Isles, Punta Gorda, their home. You may want a pair of binoculars!

There are approximately 10 miles of riding trails available for residents use---you can live here in spacious privacy, and if you feel the need for more nature, just drive 2 miles to Hathaway Park and Shell Creek, where there is boat ramp for public use. Whether you have a kayak, canoe or bass boat, you can enjoy the feel of "Old Florida" where the trees hang over the water and every bend in the creek brings a new view! Throw out a line--never know what you might land! There are also horse and walking trails---We have been here frequently and never found it crowded--it's one of those well kept secrets. If you have the idea this is quaint little creek--well, it is that in some areas, but sea planes occasionally land on Shell Creek, so keep an eye up!

Drive across the bridge at sunset and you will see why so many people come to visit and decide to stay! Punta Gorda is a diverse mix of age groups, as working people, retirees and "snowbirds" all share in the beauty and offerings of this small, friendly city. There is always something to do in Punta Gorda! Fish, golf, sun, dine, power or sailboat, or just "kick back"--it's yours for the taking!

Three major golf course communities, Bobcat Trail, Heron Creek and Sabal Trace are available for active retirement age buyers. Warm Mineral Springs attracts about 80,000 visitors a year to it's healing 87-degree waters. An abitious 50 Million Dollar renovation of the resort is planned, with estate homes, condominiums and an artist village are in the planning. There are no "malls" in North Port, but if a major shopping urge strikes---there is an designer outlet mall about 15 minutes away, a mall in Port Charlotte, and Venice/Sarasota has all types of shopping--from the usual to the unique! Beaches are about 15 minutes away--try the surf fishing!
